OBJECTIVES
• Oversee Group-wide internal audit functions, including Islamic, Central Functions, Credit, Overseas Branches and Subsidiaries, Basel, Branch Network and IT.
• Independently reviewing the adequacy and integrity of the Company’s and the subsidiaries system of internal controls.
Strategy and Planning
• Define audits value proposition to its internal and external stakeholders by developing a strategic audit plan that guides the development of the internal audit functions.
• Identify principal objectives and priorities, financial and other performance measures, as well as people and resource requirements.
• Keep abreast of and take cognizance of current audit trends, techniques and technology, changes in laws and regulations affecting the operations of the company and its subsidiaries.
• Provide effective recommendations and solutions for internal control issues.
• Assist the Group Audit Committee and their respective Functions in the development of proper policies and guidelines for all aspects of internal audit functions.
• Provide direction and technical advice to subordinates, share information and facilitate problem solving.
Execution and Review
• Develop and direct the timely execution of comprehensive annual audit plans in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Supervise and direct investigations on fraud or irregularities
• Ensure the adequacy of actions taken to correct identified deficiencies, irregularities and non-compliance and monitor follow up action.
• Review the adequacy of the scope, resources, processes and program of the group internal audit.
• Review external auditors, BNM and other relevant reports and findings.
• Establish strong working relations with Bank Negara and provide assurance of appropriate internal controls
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 10 years experience leading the audit mgmt and control function of a large complex organization.
• Intimate knowledge of internal audit controls in a complex organization.
• Understand the Group’s strategic objectives, and the role of audit in supporting business goals.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
