Due to expansion our client seeks to acquire an experienced and seasoned Head of SME Banking for their business in Vietnam. The Head is a key figure within the country management team and is responsible for the smooth performance and operations of one of the Banks key platforms. They are ultimately responsible for driving the sales dynamic and the provision of support, advice and guidance to the branch network and other centers regarding sales, operations, services and efficiency.
• To build the SME business nationally, identify high yield target markets and relevant products for implementation across the branch network.
• To recruit, train and retain high quality professionals
• To drive regional SME targets and lead management process
• Manage a team of Senior business managers, Senior RM’s, RM’s, ARM’s and other support staff
• To plan and direct activities and ensure the aims and objectives of the Groups Vision for SME Banking is in line with budget and strategy whilst identifying operational risks and managing them to acceptable levels.
• Overall management of Sales function
• Ownership of budget and targets both revenue and per product
• Ensure all practices comply with ethical risk and compliance standards procedures and processes
• Ensures service standards are in line with those agreed
• Monitors performance and provides feedback to staff and management
• Accountable for the efficiency and effectiveness of SME banking
• Manages and motivates staff to optimize performance
• Ensure obligations on reporting suspicious activities are met
• Experience in managing a team of people and possess a sound understanding of SME banking with strong relationships in the local market.
• Qualification from a recognized university is preferred – candidates with exceptional experience and lacking formal qualifications will be considered
• Preferred 10 – 15 years experience within financial services
• At least 5 years experience within SME banking
• Extremely hands on and capable
• A track record of success.
• Preference is for candidates with significant experience in a similar role (or deputy)
• Ambitious managers with less seniority are encouraged to apply.
• Vietnamese nationals or returnees are preferred. Candidates with experience of working in Vietnam will be considered as will ambitious and capable foreign nationals with emerging market experience. Experience in building a business in the region is an added advantage.
