Our Client is a world leading trading house. They are one of the major players in the trading world with over 100,000 employees and over US$ 100 billion in annual sales and revenue. They provide innovative solutions to customers across major market segments; including agriculture and food and energy and natural resources. Some of their major businesses include the trading and distribution of agricultural commodities, manufacturing and sale of livestock and feed, trading in energy, steel and transport, and the production of food ingredients. They also provide risk management and financial solutions to both their customers and their own businesses in the markets of oil, gas, energy and resources. Due to an expansion of the Company's Asia Grain and Oilseeds business division, they are currently seeking a professional with experience in grains commodity industry trading and marketing, for the following role.

Purpose:
The Senior Regional Merchant reports direct to the Product Line Manager and will be a senior member of the Company's Asia Grain & Oilseeds business division. He/She will be responsible to manage trading of cash and physical products as well as in futures hedging/positioning. Being part of the Asia team, he/she will be providing leadership to various regional destination and origin offices in terms of product strategy execution. This role is also expected to develop new customer/supplier relationships and manage existing ones. The Senior Regional Merchant role will be measured based on its ability to achieve target volumes on markets, customers accessed, and also generating the profit margins. In order to achieve this, he/she will need to collaborate with various functional groups for example; trade executions, accounting and operations with goals of generating values and created value-added customer solutions, just to name a few. This incumbent will likely to be the successor of the current Product Line Manager, should he/she exhibit the right potential.

Experience
"    Bachelors/Masters Degree in Business/Economics/Marketing/Agricultural Economics
"    Extensive significant years of commodity commercial experience, preferably in Grains and Proteins
"    Proven trading and marketing capabilities in the grain commodity industry
"    Proven risk management skills
"    Knowledgeable on macro and local economic trends
"    Ability to analyze regional, global economic and market trends, and translate it into executable commercial actions
"    Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
"    Additional proficiency in conversational Chinese local dialects would be desirable but not necessary
