POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Plant Controller plays a key ‘team role’ and operate from a broad business perspective as well as being the source of expert financial input and advice to the operations and the broader leadership team. In this role, the incumbent will manage, direct, organize, and control the accounting and controlling functions of the facility. Provides guidance, analysis and assesses the historical and anticipated financial condition of the business and recommends to leadership team various courses of action to optimize operating results. Establishes and maintains the controls necessary to protect the Our client’s assets and maximize the return on investment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible:

Pro-active steering and driving operational results together with the plant manager :

Responsible for analysis and reporting Our client’s financial results with the target to provide visibility on performance, which includes profitability analysis, cost of goods sold reviews, cost of inventory, impact of improvement plans, production volumes and unit costs, material / variable cost, consumption efficiency as well as inventory balancing.

Ensure Standard Costing (variable costs, fixed costs and depreciation) is adequately prepared and reviewed; Monitor and update product costs; Assure accuracy of material usage and purchase price variances.

Perform timely and accurately monthly close, including all reconciliation and review activities including variance analysis, manufacturing performance and monthly forecast projections.

Prepare estimates to price new business, cost containment analysis, other profitability & return on investment analysis as directed by Management.

Coordinate operating and capital budget processes. Administer capital budget during the year. Ensures that investments are properly evaluated, requested, approved and monitored

Provide operational and financial input into the Integrated Supply Chain & Operations planning (SIOP) process to insure optimal operation and cost positioning of Our client.

Ensure a strong financial control environment is established and maintained. Coordinate internal control and financial audit testing at the facility. Alert plant management and accounting staff of critical issues or weaknesses

Develop, manage and control plant budgets and metrics consistent with both Business and Operations leadership goals

Provide proactively and timely measurement, continuous improvement measures and proactive correction on deviations of plant performance including reducing plant overhead costs, reducing variances and under-absorbed costs, meeting product cost targets (COGS), and inventory and payables targets.

Maintain excellent working relationships internally and with service providers and government agencies as required. Proactively work with plant personnel and the finance organization to improve plant performance.

Actively participate in the SIOP process (inventory, demand, etc.) and guide decision making process based on financial performance.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Excellent in English

BS degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA/CMA desirable.

At least five (5) years related experience in a manufacturing environment.

At least three (3) years of plant controlling/accounting experience a must.

Proven analytical abilities, including strong accounting/financial, budgeting, business planning and forecasting skills, with solid working knowledge in IFRS and local GAAP.

Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and capabilities. Understanding of standard costing and basics of production accounting.

Self-starter capable of interacting closely with production, bidding, materials and customer service as well as the ability to quickly identify and solve complex problems.

Excellent written and verbal skills (in English and local language) to interact with people at all levels and functions inside and outside the company

Ability to work with a large volume of detail producing accurate results within aggressive deadlines.

Advanced level of computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Proficient MRP/ERP system skills (SAP Modules especially the ones related to materials management production, cost accounting, business warehouse)
