Job Description
Our client is a premier utilities and infrastructure group with interests in Transport & Logistics, Energy & Utilities and Engineering & Construction.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Contracts and Commercial Manager is involved in the Pre and Post Management of the contracts for both existing and upcoming projects.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer pre and post contract correspondence
Provide support and advice to operations team and analyse of Works Package Contractors (WPC) claims
Report to Head of Contracts (HOD).
Direct team leaders on all contractual issues
Oversee all correspondence issued by the Contracts & Commercial Department
Pre-Contract Stage
Undertake contracts review/tender review/risk assessments for tenders and new contracts for award
Post-Contract Stage
Advise/ensure contractual compliances requirement
Draft (or review drafts by others) contractual correspondence, deed of assignments, novation agreements, and warranties.
Monitor and co-ordinate contractual claims and variation orders, etc
Draft claim documents and supervise the compilation of the claim documents.
Attend claims related meetings with clients, consultants and WPC.
Provide input to strategise and resolve complex contractual issues.
Provide contractual input for third party agreements.
Assess validity of claims against the Government.
Advise on the assessment and defence against WPC claims.
Attend project meetings where required.
Manage claim registers and claim reports.
Liaise with authorities and/or Government bodies if required by the HOD/ Contracts & Commercial Director
Comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the company.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Quantity Surveying or the equivalent.
RICS / CInstCES Professional membership is preferred.
Minimum of 15 years contractual claims administration
Minimum of 5 years railway experience
Computer knowledge, contract administration knowledge and ability to draft contractual letters
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently, to demonstrate maturity and tactful in handling different levels of individuals within the organization and external parties.
