Our Client is a world leading trading house. They are one of the major players in the trading world with over 100,000 employees and over US$ 100 billion in annual sales and revenue. They provide innovative solutions to customers across major market segments; including agriculture and food and energy and natural resources. Some of their major businesses include the trading and distribution of agricultural commodities, manufacturing and sale of livestock and feed, trading in energy, steel and transport, and the production of food ingredients. They also provide risk management and financial solutions to both their customers and their own businesses in the markets of oil, gas, energy and resources. Due to an expansion of the Company's Asia Grain and Oilseed business division, they are currently seeking a professional with experience in wheat commodity industry trading and marketing, for the following role.

Purpose:
The Regional Merchant - Wheat will be a member of the current Wheat Product Line team. He/She will manage/lead trading flows into the region (Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, and central Asia), ensuring market access, and origination of wheat to satisfy the increasing demand in the region. This role will also provide leadership to the local merchants and play a key role in the origination-distribution link. The Regional Merchant - Wheat will contribute to develop Supply and Demand insights, adding to the Group's Analytics and Intelligence platforms.

Qualification:
"    Bachelors/Masters Degree in Economics/Agricultural Engineering/Business Administration and/or other relevant discipline
"    Marketing knowledge would be desirable

Experience & Technical Competencies:
"    Some years of commodity commercial experience, preferably in wheat
"    Knowledgeable on macro and local economic trends
"    Proven risk management skills - appetite for risk
"    Able to analyze regional & global economic and market trends and translate it into executable commercial actions

Languages:
"    Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
"    Chinese language ability is highly desired as the role involved liaising with regional merchants in the China office
"    Additional local dialects would be valued
